When I first chatted with Susan, the mother of the bride, we instantly connected. Our conversation was full of laughter and we both knew it was “meant to be” that At Your Side Planning would help make her daughter Maggi’s wedding dreams come true. Maggi was getting married just a few months later so we knew we had to get the ball rolling. I assisted Maggi in finding a number of vendors as well as turning her vision into a reality by helping to style her fabulous wedding day. Maggi and soon-to-be husband Frank were a great couple who loved the 90’s, dancing, laughing, and most of all had so much love for one another!
Maggi and Frank were FUN! With “I like big butts” as their garter toss song, you can imagine how enjoyable their day was. Maggi’s two dear friends, Loui and Sean beautified her with hair and makeup for her day. She was positively glowing when she arrived at Sacred Heart church in Ocean Beach, where the ceremony took place. This beautiful church was livened up with the bride’s gorgeous bouquet and florals created by Liz of Barliz Flowers. The color palette included blues and oranges with pops of yellow.
A Leading Limo transported the bridal party to the church and kept them smiling throughout the day. The couple even snuck away for sunset photos at Sunset Cliffs with the incredible wife and husband team (Ellie and Mike) of 1 Look Back Photography!
The Thursday Club, already a charming venue tucked into the hills of San Diego, was decorated with beautiful linens from Enchanted Moments and floral by Barliz Flowers. The lush green garden faded into the deep blue ocean in the distance for a spectacular view.
Sweet and Savory Catering provided scrumptious comfort food, and it’s a good thing they brought so much because everyone went back for seconds! The lovely cake from Edelweiss Bakery was delicious! A great friend and an excellent DJ, Toy Harris spun exactly what the crowd wanted to hear and kept the guests dancing all day and night. The reception room was full of life and the grown ups and the kids joined together in the dancing festivities. We opened all the doors and let the summer breeze in to cool the crowd. What fun!
Many guests traveled from near and far to celebrate this amazing and sweet couple. The love for Maggi and Frank was so apparent throughout the day from the wishes written on the notes put into the shadowbox frame guest book to the heartfelt speeches, not to mention that they couldn’t keep their eyes off each other! We felt so honored to be part of such an amazing day! Congratulations to Maggi and Frank!
