Chic. Elegant. Extravagant. These are a few words to describe the wedding of Desiree and Sean. I met Desiree about a year before her wedding and I was ecstatic to create such a unique wedding with her. Desiree’s family wanted to include Jewish traditions and elements, and her father and mother were pastors of a Christian church. From Jewish to Christian and desiring to include both areas in her wedding along with extravagance and bling made me excited, inspired, and motivated!
We created a classy, vintage wedding which shined through everything from the gorgeous bridesmaids dresses to the perfectly selected decor details. Strings of pearls, soft feathers and sparkling bling were some of the elements that accented the styling. It was simply a gorgeous day, just like Desirees vision.
Desiree and Sean exchanged vows at the Upper Room Pentecostal Church in Imperial Beach, California. Ancient Hebrew music played along with love songs as guests took their seats upstairs. The ceremony included a traditional Jewish Chuppah designed by Liz of Barliz Flowers and the aisle had a lovely floral swirl design made of rose petals. The flower girl was adorable and was stylin’ as well!
The stunning ladies, all dolled up, entered from one door while the gentlemen entered from another. The groom entered with his father to Here Comes The Hotstepper and had the guests laughing. The bride’s own father and minister, Don Shepard, married the couple, making it extra special.
After the ceremony, everyone headed over to the newly renovated Tom Hams Lighthouse in San Diego. This venue is gorgeous! It has incredible views of downtown San Diego and its new look is chic and modern. The tables looked incredible. Black satin linens from Enchanted Moments draped the tables, which were then topped with extravagant red rose arrangements dripping with pearls by Barliz Flowers.
The couple’s close friend Joseph Ignacio of JVI Entertainment provided the DJ services and also played the keyboard and sang during the dinner. Cake by The French Gourmet was splendid atop an elegant gold cake stand. Capturing every moment was Flavio of LEAF Photography. Flavio is a joy to work with and the photos are fascinating.
There were surprises planned by the bride’s very own parents including a “wedding crasher” who “thought” he was at a Bar Mitzvah. The crasher was actually a Rabbi who started speaking on the mic and shared some little-known and humorous facts about the bride (courtesy of her parents)! This went into a magical and fun performance by the Bottle Dancers!
The couple was shocked, confused, then extremely joyful, joining in the dancing and the Horah! This motivated every single guest to get up and participate and was the highlight of the evening. Guests danced into the night until they surrounded the couple for a magnificent sparklers exit and saw them off, driving away in a vintage limo!
