Shelly and Nino were introduced by Nino’s daughter, Ashley. Shelly and Ashley worked together in Arizona and Ashley just knew she had to get her and her father to meet. Shelly was hesitant at first but began to slowly exchange phone calls with Nino. One fateful day in San Diego Shelly and Nino finally met and hit it off just as Ashley knew they would. Eventually Shelly decided to move to San Diego and Nino proposed soon after. They then started planning their wedding, and this is where At Your Side comes in–what an honor we felt to be brought in to help them plan and design their perfect rustic vineyard wedding!
This lovely couple was married on a crisp autumn day with crystal views at Orfila Winery, the perfect spot for Shelly and Nino hidden away in the hills of Escondido. An intimate ceremony site nestled in the low hills, Orfila was drenched in the golden oranges, rich browns, and fiery reds of the fall landscape.
Shelly and her ladies prepared for the day in a private condo in Solana Beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Her bridesmaid and close friend, Heather Wilson provided the beauty services for these lovely ladies. At the end of the aisle in the ceremony site stood a gorgeous arch styled by Diane of Whimsey Floral, covered in twine and greenery. Beyond the arch was a beautiful natural backdrop of sun ripened grape vines.
Nino entered and walked down the aisle with his parents followed by the bridal party. Shelly’s entrance was special with her brother escorting her down and giving her away. The one responsible for introducing Nino and Shelly, Ashley was a teary and joyful bridesmaid. The heartfelt ceremony was officiated by Craig of Craig Does Weddings and captured by Hugo Benson. Hugo was able to get the couple alone in the vineyard for some truly breathtaking photos.
The couple had many guests travel from other states and were surrounded with so many family and friends. Steve Eicher of Unique Mobile Sounds was the DJ and emcee for the night and did an amazing job, as always!
The styling was awe-inspiring. Angela of Enchanted Moments dolled up the wine barrels with burlap and lace overlays while the inside reception was covered with custom creamy ivory linens.
The sign in area was a board where guests had fun stamping their fingerprint with ink and leaving a message. Place cards were cute and quaint as they each had a yellow billy ball created by Whimsey Floral. Rustic touches throughout included a wooden card box, lanterns, wood photo frames and wood grain labels tied with string hanging from the wine bottle favors.
The delectable cuisine was provided by Coast Catering who were fabulous to work with! Everything looked great and everyone had a wonderful time! We wish Shelly and Nino the very best in their new life together as a married couple!
