Steampunk Photoshoot

Steampunk – noun: a genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology.

San Diego Style Weddings Magazine has featured our most recent photo shoot! This Steampunk themed shoot showcases an edgy and topical style that many modern brides are keen on. We spent time with Shadowcatcher Imagery scouting out the ideal location and eye-catching props in order to create a picture perfect shoot. Los Willows in Fallbrook, California is a grand venue that complimented our styled shoot and themed decor wonderfully.

One of the most important aspects of the Steampunk theme is the deep earthy colors. Saturated burgundies, bronzes and browns paired with lighter accent colors were incorporated throughout the set in beautiful floral arrangements put together by talented florists from Flowers by Coley.

The models transformed into an edgy steampunk couple thanks to makeup artistry by Alexia Pietre and hair by Nancy Vestal.  The “bride” for the day looked flawless, donning two magnificent gowns provided by Here Comes the Bride while our “groom” wore a suave tux from Friar Tux Shop.

The attire was accented by amazing wardrobe props from Dr. Watson’s Steampunk Odditorium. Susan Lafica of Fiori Couture did a spectacular job styling and accessorizing our models to look like the perfect steampunk couple.

A vintage red french couch loaned to us by Folklore Vintage Rentals was the centerpiece of multiple lovely pictures.

Other props including a large trunk, chairs and cake table decor were provided by Teal Green Design and Rentals.

All aspects of the shoot looked fantastic, all the way to the small detailing of the cakes created by Flour Power Cakery and the stationary designed by Harken Press.
