The Scoop
Met in Las Vegas. Engaged in Paris. Married in San Diego. Three lively cities and two beautiful people. The wedding celebration of Kristen and Lloyd was magical. The Parisian styling, soft color palette, romantic candlelight, and breathtaking floral were some of the amazing details of their celebration. The color palette included soft pinks, peaches and deep blues with natural elements bringing it all together.
Ceremony
Their Catholic ceremony was held at the gorgeous St. Joseph’s Cathedral in downtown San Diego. Nearly 300 guests were in attendance to celebrate Kristen and Lloyd’s special day. Their families were included in the ceremony, making it intimate and special in the elaborate cathedral. Both sets of parents took part in the processional and Kristen’s father addressed all of the guests during the ceremony. The bridal party consisted of the couple’s friends, siblings, an adorable ring bearer, and a darling flower girl. There were 3 extra special bouquets for the church – two were presented by the couple to their mothers and the third bouquet they offered to the Virgin Mary. This is an important tradition in the Catholic Cathedral because of Mary’s leadership in her example of faith.
The Beach
Following the ceremony, the couple and their bridal party traveled to La Jolla for some fun photo time together near the Scripps Pier. Kristen and Lloyd strolled along the coast enjoying some of their first moments as a married couple by writing their initials in the sand. Their love for each other was beaming like the California sun!
Details + Reception
Since Kristen and Lloyd were engaged in Paris, they included subtle Parisian styling throughout their wedding. Guests enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour on the rooftop deck at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp looking out at the beautiful city view. Guests had a blast in the photo booth out on the deck!!!! An impressive projection of the couple’s names on both sides of an Eiffel Tower and their wedding date below could be seen on the wall of a nearby building.
Inside the venue, the ballroom was elegant and romantic with candlelight and lush floral by Splendid Sentiments.
The tables were named after different Parisian landmarks including the Palais Garnier and the Arc De Triomphe. The table names were displayed along with framed Parisian images on each table.
Guests found their place cards in Eiffel Tower holders and the cake topper was a wooden silhouette of Lloyd proposing at the Eiffel Tower.
The Food!
The guests enjoyed a traditional 8 course Chinese dinner starting with a cold platter and finishing with macarons for dessert. All of the delicious courses were served family style on lazy Susan’s at each table. The menu was incredible and guests loved it!
Dancing
For the grand entrance both the ladies and the gentlemen of the bridal party had coordinated dance routines for their respective songs and they definitely got the party started!! Kristen and Lloyd kept it up with their grand entrance and first dance; they were on the dance floor until the end of the night!! The bridal party knew how to have a great time and enjoyed each other’s company long after many of the family members went home.
Family
Lloyd’s father and Kristen’s uncle both took time to introduce their family’s and acknowledge guests that had come from all over to celebrate the occasion.
As guests enjoyed their meals, Kristen and Lloyd greeted all of their guests at their tables. Kristen changed into a traditional Vietnamese outfit for this – which looked stunning!!!!
It was a wonderful day and they were such a fun couple! Thank you Kristen and Lloyd for having us as your wedding day coordinators!!
