Spanish Styled Romance

First Look + Ceremony

Megan and Ben’s wedding day showed just what a fun, down to earth, and a special couple they are! They chose the historical Mission San Diego De Alcala church as the place to exchange their vows. The Mission was the first of the California Missions built and holds a great amount of our San Diego history in its beauty! Full of culture and a rich history, this site was also the church Ben’s parents were married in and Megan’s sister. So the church held a special place in the both families’ hearts.

Megan and Ben opted to have their first look prior to the ceremony on the beautiful landscaped grounds of the Mission.

The ceremony included live music provided by the guitarist, pianist, and cantor which complimented the special Catholic service. After the ceremony, the couple and their lovely bridal party also enjoyed some time together as they headed to the reception site!

The Reception + Dinner

The Rancho Bernardo Inn provided a spectacular ambiance with its Spanish Mediterranean style that was the perfect pairing for this couple’s wedding day. Upon arrival, guests enjoyed a display of family photos that included pictures of the parents and grandparents, of the bride and groom, during their wedding celebrations! Family and friends loved seeing the classic attire which commenced great conversation.

The wedding design at the Rancho Bernardo Inn was gorgeous – brightly colored flowers and painted ceramic tile table numbers wrapped into the decor of the hotel. The bride and groom opted for a long farm table as their head table and enjoyed their dinner sitting with their bridal party consisting of family and close friends. It looked stunning! The couple snuck away for breathtaking sunset photos during the evening. They joined the party again to enjoy very touching and lighthearted toasts by their guests.

Some highlights included an anniversary dance and a mother’s day dance which honored all mothers in attendance. This was perfect since the wedding was held on Mother’s Day weekend.

The Pretty Little Things

The exquisite flowers by Whimsey Floral were bright and airy, complimenting the space nicely! Diane, with Whimsey Floral, is wonderful to work with and happened to be a close family friend of Megan’s parents.

The couple provided a basket of pashminas that kept people warm on the patio as the cocktail hour began and as the evening went on. Guests also made sure to stop by the basket of flip flops before going to dance the night away. Megan and Ben gifted sunglasses as their personalized favors; which guests had a lot of fun wearing on the dance floor!

The dessert bar was a big hit!! The desserts by Michele Coulon Dessertier were an eclectic mix of sweets. Guests were offered an assortment of different small desserts in lieu of traditional cake and they were enjoyed by all. There were no leftovers!

The Crowd

The celebration included lots of special children! The bride and groom had a multitude of nieces and nephews all having an exciting time. The children created their own dance routines to entertain guests as the night was ending. The crowd was lively and the dance floor was full of people of all ages from toddlers to grandparents! The DJ, Tom from Dancing DJ Productions, did a fantastic job of playing music that appealed to everyone.

Photo booth

The bride and groom created their own “photo booth” using the large wooden doors at the venue as a backdrop. They even made their own personalized props which included their adorable dog and lots of Eagles Super Bowl gear for family who had flown in from Philadelphia making it very personal and their guests loved it!

The joy among both of the families was so apparent and you could tell it was such a happy day for everyone!! Megan and Ben danced throughout the night and had a wonderful time. We thank them for allowing us to come alongside and coordinate their special day!
