Exciting I-Dos at The Lot San Diego!

The Place!

The venue at Lot 8 is a converted parking lot with wooden walls full of succulents and plants that has a modern, rustic vibe. It was the perfect location for the wedding of Jared and Lauren who envisioned a relaxed celebration in a unique space.  This wedding included spotlight pieces such as, a trailer-turned-bar, a live edge wood table, decorative tires filled with plants, wooden barrels, and many more adorable touches.

Wooden farm tables were brought in for dinner which kept with the vibe of the venue. Centerpieces were created with eucalyptus and accented with candles along the tables. The greenery mixed with grey embellishments tied in with the natural style of the place!

The wedding was officiated by the couple’s close friend Brandon Chung.  This made for an intimate and personal ceremony. Lauren looked gorgeous in her fitted lace wedding gown with Jared in a stylish maroon suit. The bridal party complimented the couple with their grey and maroon accents. Lauren and Jared were so excited to say “I do”!

The Date + Style

Wedding took place on Cinco de Mayo and while the decor of the wedding was not Mexican themed, there were many Mexican dishes included as part of the menu.  Guests were welcomed with the couple’s signature cocktail which was the bride and groom’s favorite skinny margarita recipe. Appetizers were chips and salsa followed by dinner from Tacos El Gordo – which guests LOVED!

The Maid of Honor, the bride’s sister Amber, personally designed and created decor for the wedding including the table numbers, the wooden frame for seating assignments, the hand painted signs, and the personalized photo props. Amber’s hard work to make her sister’s wedding perfect added a special touch to a wonderful day.

Jared and Lauren opted to have a homemade cheesecake, their favorite dessert, over the traditional wedding cake.  This was accented by an extensive array of mini desserts – consisting of pies, brownies, cookies, etc. People devoured the desserts! There was a little bit of something for everyone and guests loved that they could make a plate that sampled a variety of different sweets.

The Party + Late Night Snacks

This crowd was a lot of fun! Prior to the grand entrance, the groom surprised his guests by inviting them to partake in tequila shots that were being passed around. Later on in the evening, party props were given out to the guests. Sombreros, maracas, glow sticks and beads were used to spice up the dance floor and keep the party atmosphere going. A few sombreros even made there way into the photo booth!

Since the party went late into the night, there was a midnight-munchie station with different types of lumpia being made fresh to order for guests.  This is one of the couple’s favorite things to eat and it was a huge hit!

Little Details

The wedding favors were personalized matchboxes and a hangover remedy called “lyte show” which the couple swears by! Packets of “lyte show” and water were set up for guests to take on their way out – ensuring that people would feel better the next day even after they had partied hard the night before! Guests loved every detail that the couple carefully selected for their wedding.

Jared, Lauren and their crowd had a fabulous time celebrating this exciting wedding!
