Gorgeous Wedding at The Forum!

The Couple

Jimson & Jane were one of our most energetic and lively couples this year! We adored helping them plan their destination wedding as they traveled in from Los Angeles to celebrate this special day. They incorporated so many lovely details which made every element of their wedding so personal. Their wedding was held on a beautiful September day with hints of Fall in the crisp air. The venue was the breathtaking Scripps Seaside Forum.

The Ceremony

The couple began their day by having a Tea Ceremony with their closest family and friends. They then took beautiful photos together with the spectacular Pacific ocean as their backdrop.

The traditional ceremony included a large bridal party of family and friends, as well as the darling ring bearers and adorable flower girls.

The highlight though was Dexter, the couple’s french bulldog – who was the dog of honor!  All dressed up in his tuxedo, he was the perfect guest the entire night.

Joe Cardillo provided the saxophone music for the ceremony which was officiated by the groom’s sister who did a wonderful job! The couple wrote their own vows which were incredible to hear.

They stood under a very unique, hexagon arch which was created by one of the groomsman and decorated exquisitely by Sofia of Flora Glamour. Geometric glass terrariums held beautiful floral arrangements along the aisle. Guests grabbed boxes of rose petals to toss during the recessional.

The sunset was incredible as it broke through the clouds and the couple enjoyed their first few moments as husband and wife together.

Cocktail Hour

Guests enjoyed cocktails and tray passed appetizers on the patio for cocktail hour. The couple’s signature cocktails were the Hurricane Jane (a vodka mixed drink) and the Jimbo Slice (Jameson mixed drink).  Giuseppes provided the bar services while French Gourmet catered the delicious food!

The Design

The color scheme of gray, silver, white, and greenery was simply elegant. Geometric glass terrariums with floral that were used during the ceremony became centerpieces for the reception surrounded by silver votives.

A rosemary sprig on each napkin was a nice finishing touch. The hexagon arch was moved into the reception area and a wooden sign of their hashtag “#becomingzhen” was hung from it – making for a very cool decor piece. French Gourmet provided most of the rentals while Mario of Best Rentals provided the chiavari chairs, lighting, and drapery.

Dancing & Toasts

Each couple made their grand entrance in style with planned out dances which set up the energetic atmosphere for the rest of the evening. Jason Diaz sang an acoustic version of, “Slow Hands” by Niall Horan for the couple’s first dance. He performed throughout most of dinner before handing the mic over to DJ Hevrock who continued to provide the music for the remainder of the evening.  He was a great presence, keeping the guests excited and on the dance floor throughout the night.

A large screen dropped down and guests enjoyed viewing a surprise slideshow of the bride and groom. The maid of honor, best man, and brother of the bride gave fantastic toasts telling stories and congratulating the newly weds. Then Jane and Jimson both toasted and thanked their parents, which was especially heartwarming. The bridal party kicked off the night with a dance- the wobble – to open up the dance floor!

Desserts & Favors

The couple opted for a small cake from whole foods to be cut.  Their topper was amazing – literally a statue replica of them and their dog Dexter looked so much like them!

The groomsmen built a donut wall so guests enjoyed donuts throughout the evening as well as a crepe station by the French gourmet. Favors were small boxes with little smores ingredients inside – very cute ! And personalized matchbooks

Fun Stuff

Bride surprised Jimson with a serenade/dance to one of the couples songs, “Cater 2 You” by Destiny’s Child. Then the groomsmen had Jane sit down while they performed for her as well – it was a very lively and fun dance floor!!  There was a little bit of everything; including some traditional line dances for the older crowd. The guests also enjoyed the photo booth by Smilecam throughout the night.
