Exquisite Persian Wedding at The Westin Carlsbad

The Location

The wedding of Shaya and Tarlon was exquisite! This elegant, lavish celebration at the Westin Carlsbad created a once in a lifetime celebration for guests. It is such a gorgeous venue situated in the Northern part of San Diego County. This Persian wedding was just stunning!

The Morning

Tarlon spent the morning with the important ladies in her life getting all dolled up. They looked remarkable.

Tarlon and her father shared a very special first look and a few tears prior to the couple’s first look together.

Then the bridal party joined together for some fun photos around the spectacular property!

Hello Guests!

As guests arrived at the location, they were greeted with a beautiful mirrored welcome sign and a hand-painted portrait of the couple created by the bride’s uncle. It was a spectacular piece, adding a unique personal touch, that the couple can cherish forever. Guests were served coffee and tea paired with pastries to enjoy as they made their way to the ceremony.

The Ceremony & Design

The ceremony was situated outside on the Ocean Blue Lawn. Everything was designed to look elegant with a mirrored platform adorned with the most stunning white floral arrangements set for the ceremony.

The simplistic color scheme of silver, white and clear was angelic. The dramatic runway which led up to the mirrored stage showcased the breathtaking Soffreh for the couple.

The groom, Shaya entered dancing down the runway spreading smiles and laughter throughout the crowd of over 300 friends and family. The bridal party and children followed in a similar fashion showing off their dance moves on their way to their places near the Soffreh. They each had their own song picked out as they danced down!

Tarlon’s parents danced down the runway pausing at the midpoint waiting for Tarlon to join them. She looked breathtaking as she made her way to meet them. They then escorted her to Shaya with tears of joy glistening in her eyes.

The ceremony was influenced by the Persian culture with the ceremony being officiated by the uncle of the groom. This was a very personal and beautiful addition, as segments of the ceremony were performed in both English and Farsi.

Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, guests headed to cocktail hour which was conducted inside and on the outside patio.  They enjoyed appetizers from Hatam who curated an elaborate spread of Persian delicacies. Hatam also provided additional stations inside the ballroom which included the most beautiful display of fruits and pastries, followed by an amazing dessert bar. All were displayed gorgeously on mirrored tables.

A friend of the couple created a neon sign with the bride and groom’s names that hung on a hedge wall outside making for a perfect backdrop for photos.

At the end of cocktail hour, a double rainbow appeared overhead capturing the guest’s attention.  It was such a rare sight that everyone had to take a moment to enjoy it in awe.

Reception & Design

Guests found their seats by viewing a beautiful, large mirror with engraved seating assignments. The design of the entire wedding was spectacular!

The DJ stage was placed in the center of the ballroom along with the dance floor. It was framed in by the mirrored sweetheart and head tables, a mirrored cake table, and a beautiful silver bar.

The mirrored table numbers coordinated with the silver chargers and placecards. At the head table, laser-cut acrylic name plates were an extra touch for all the VIPs.

Each tables was adorned with tall, lush white floral centerpieces and an array of candles. The entire room was draped in white, literally, including white uplighting throughout.

Grand Entrance

The grand entrance kicked off the party inside the ballroom with a confetti cannon explosion completing the couple’s entrance. The confetti cannon continued to surprise guests throughout the evening raining down white confetti!

The couple swayed through their first dance as they shared an intimate moment together. It wouldn’t last for long though as the first dance was followed by a surprise for the bride – an incredible choreographed dance by the groom and his groomsmen! They left it all out on the dance floor as Tarlon watched on in awe. After the groomsmen dance, the dance floor was opened up for everyone. This group loved their dancing and got everyone up on their feet until the dance floor couldn’t be seen anymore with so many people on it!

Dinner service began as guests listened to toasts from the father of the bride, father of the groom, maid of honor, the sister of the groom, the best man, and a bridesmaid. The couple gave a thank you to their guests before everyone headed back to the dancefloor where they stayed all night!

It was an energetic and fun reception with the bride and groom dancing on stage. Glow sticks were provided to guests to wave in the air- it was a real party that had all the guests as part of the celebration!

The couple did a knife dance prior to cutting the cake and tossing the bouquet. The cake was created by Marjan Hakemin and was draped in orchids!

Late Night Snack!

The Habit came and started serving up some more food- burgers and fries packed up in boxes for guests to pick up and go – they could hardly keep up! Guests LOVED it and at that point in the night were ready for some late night snacks
