The Location
The wedding of Patrick and Deanne was celebrated at the exclusive location of Loews Coronado. This luxurious resort offered breathtaking photo spots with quaint gardens along the bay and a backdrop of downtown San Diego.
The Morning
The couple spent time with their bridal party prepping for their day. The couple had a first look followed by bridal party photos.
Ceremony
The ceremony was at The Pointe, a beautiful small lawn and was officiated by a close friend of the couple.
The couple wrote their own vows and included a glass ceremony, which is similar to a sand ceremony but with small colored shards of glass instead. The groom’s children were a part of the wedding party and participated in a part of the ceremony where they welcomed Deanne as their dad’s new wife!
Wedding Style
Purple was the primary color which looked splendid with gold accents.
The bridesmaids wore different shades of purple while the groomsmen complimented their attire with purple vests. The groom looked sharp in a purple jacket which suited him nicely!
The bride and groom designed much of the decor including the centerpieces of silk flowers in glass vases with lights surrounded by candles.
Cocktail Hour
Immediately following the ceremony Drew, the drone photographer captured a drone video and photo of all guests. The cocktail hour was held at the Pointe where guests enjoyed a full bar and signature cocktails. The signature drink for the bride was “The Lady D,” a bourbon drink with pear juice and ginger while the groom’s was “The Oz Diablo,” a spicy tequila drink.
Dinner Reception & More Details!
Tables were named after places the couple had traveled. Name cards with photos from the couple’s destinations completed each table.
Strings of fairy lights and paper lanterns hung above the dinner area, creating a magical ambience.
Signage for welcome signs, bar, place cards, signature drinks and the guestbook were also curated by the couple.
Patrick, from Australia and Deanne, from San Diego created an alternative digital photo as their guest book which had both the Coronado bridge and the Sydney harbor bridge in the background.
The Sunset Terrace was the perfect location for dinner. It overlooked the bay with a stunning view of downtown and the Coronado bridge. It was especially breathtaking during sunset.
The Music and the fun!
The couple loved music so arranged for a mix of music that really reflected their personalities. The ceremony music was played by Eliana strings, followed by a live guitarist and vocals during the beginning of the dinner time completed by a DJ set from Fish Fonics.
Favors & Cake
Favors were small succulents for each guest. The cake was completed with ombre purple floral on glass vases filled with floral holding up a mirrored cake stand.
The End!
Guests blew bubbles to wish the couple well during the last song and they continued the celebrations at the hotel bar after the reception. Thank you Patrick and Deanne for allowing us to come alongside and make your dream wedding a reality!
