Location
The Lafayette Hotel, Swim Club & Bungalows is a charming hotel situated in the North Park area of San Diego, CA. Since 1946, The Lafayette has welcomed celebrities and many guests. It has charm and style. Courtney and Jon chose this cute hotel for their wedding day. We love this place!
Pre Ceremony Photos
Jon and Courtney had their first look on the hotel’s front steps. The couple and the bridal party shared some fun moments at the mural, “In Craft We Trust” which was perfect because it is also the couple’s last name. They also shared some beers together!
Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the conservatory and the seating was an eclectic mix of chairs and couches. The glass backdrop overlooked the pool area.
The ring bearers carried the “ring security” sign while the adorable flower girls in floral crowns carried in black and white petals.
The bride’s brother escorted her down the aisle and a good friend officiated the ceremony creating a very personalized and funny time for all.
Following the ceremony, the couple signed their marriage license in the library of the Lafayette and then had some more photo time with family.
Cocktail Hour
The cocktail hour was in the west courtyard, a hidden area complete with life size checkers and chess pieces. Guests enjoyed cocktails and tray passed appetizers.
Dinner
The guests continued to the Mississippi ballroom which was a nightclub decades ago. One of its most notable features is the giant lit shell backdrop which was right behind the sweetheart table.
Design
The color scheme was black, white, and rose gold. The couple wanted a fun, laid back vibe for their wedding day. Their tables were named after different breweries
The guests had a great time with the polaroid guest book and the children enjoyed the wedding themed activity pages and crayons.
The symbols on the placards designated meal choices were logos from their favorite sports teams.
Favors
The favors were chocolate dipped pretzel rods and beer that they helped brew specifically for the wedding day!
Sweets
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Jon and Courtney opted for an elaborate dessert buffet from Desserts by Tracey. It included a variety of cookies, cupcakes, brownies, peanut butter balls, and a candy buffet!
The centerpieces were a mix of floral centerpieces in vases and potted succulent arrangements which guests were also allowed to take home at the end of the night. They were surrounded by rose gold votives and looked spectacular.
Rose gold geometric pieces, tea lights and flowers adorned the room. A bride and groom lego cake topper and bride and groom rubber ducks completed the tables.
Fun!
The groom danced with his mother, and then the couple shared their first dance to a slow acoustic version of “No Diggity.” They invited their guests to join them on the dance floor part way through the song to get the party started!
Ryan The Entertainer kept the party going all night and everyone had a great time on the dance floor.
The couple provided a late night snack for their guests – pretzels from the CA Tap Room with personalized pretzel bags saying “we tied the knot!”
Thank you Jon and Courtney for allowing us to come along your side and coordinate your fun and beautiful wedding day.
