San Diego Wedding at Herb & Wood

Effortless & Elegant at Herb & Wood

Venue’s Beauty

Kimberly and Patrick celebrated their San Diego Wedding at the beautiful Herb & Wood, a restaurant venue in Little Italy, San Diego. A beautiful wedding venue meant there was not much decor for the couple to add, as the room glowed with globe lights, red brick walls, amber wood beams, and large windows with natural light.

The Layout

The “Gallery” room was designed to host both the wedding ceremony and reception, leaving the tables to the sides of the room to provide an open middle aisle and future dance floor. At the head of the room was the stage where Blooms Design House created a gorgeous illusion arch structure with an array of floral colors. The stage was also accented with candles and greenery.

Make it Special

The couple made sure to make their wedding special with elements unique to them. Patrick desired to experience the magic of seeing his bride for the first time at the wedding ceremony, so they opted to not do a first look.

Their ceremony included a unity candle ceremony, which both of the couple’s mothers participated in, while the groom’s grandfather shared a nuptial blessing. Further, the photographers specialized in candid wedding photos, rather than posed portraits, which turned out beautifully! The photos captured authentic shots of the couple enjoying one another and having fun. The wedding venue and downtown San Diego set the scene for picture-perfect settings of florals, greenery, and architecture.

All the Fun

The fun began with drinks and an elaborate grazing table of bright cheeses, veggies, fruits, and dips. The wedding guests found their seats with escort cards of metallic gold print, leading them to their long tables that were lined with bud vases and candles. The three course dinner from Herb & Wood looked exquisite on the beautiful plating and table decor, and allowed guests to try a variety of mediterranean dishes family style.

The second half of the evening was all about the music! One of the bride’s cousins performed “If I ain’t got you” by Alicia Keys, wowing guests. Then, DJ Kris of Dancing DJs really did get people dancing! The venue’s ceiling lights created the perfect atmosphere for people to let loose, gathering all the guests to the dance floor for a group photo. All in all, it was the perfect wedding day for the lovely couple, spending it with family and friends.
